Exciting WEAVING HOPE UPDATE!

Greetings to all Weaving Hope friends, We have truly been blessed by your interest and investment in our ministry. As you know, Weaving Hope was founded three years ago to help meet the needs of the poorest and most needy women in Guatemala . Our focus has been on widows, and now, with the founding of Partnership in Womens Ministry, we will also be focusing on abused women. While there have been ups and downs in the ministry, we are very excited to share about the next phase of our work here! For many years we have been in frequent contact with our friends at HOPE Bible Mission (HBM). This is a mission organization founded some fifty years ago. You can review their story on the web at www.hopebiblemission.org. They have many of the same goals as Weaving Hope and we appreciate their priority of raising up local leaders as the most important tool to effectively advance the Gospel of Christ in Guatemala . This has always been a goal of ours as well.

The majority of their work is in the same part of Guatemala in which we work. As part of their mission strategy, they seek to help meet the needs of women, which we felt fit in very well with what we are called to do. So we have decided to join forces with HBM, which the Weaving Hope Board has approved. What this means is that funding for Weaving Hope will come through HOPE, whose headquarters are located in Halifax , PA. This will also mean that our board of directors, who have faithfully served us for three years, will be dissolved. All of these faithful servants have expressed an interest in stepping down from their duties and we felt the timing was right for this transfer of leadership.

HOPE Bible Mission has been an established 501c3 organization for many years and tax receipts for donations to Weaving Hope will be sent out to those who contribute this way.

We feel this partnership with HOPE Bible Mission will allow us to do what we do more effectively and more economically. And it will increase our level of accountability. All good things!

The Weaving Hope website will remain, but will eventually have more links to what is going on at HOPE, and vice versa.
