We are looking forward to the arrival of our first
work team in 2008. The team will be arriving from
frigid Mauston, Wisconsin, on February 15th for a
one week building project in San Pedro, Sacatepacez.
This will be the first missions trip for many on this
team from Bethany Lutheran Church and we are very
excited
about the opportunity they will have to be a blessing
to Maria Louisa, a single mother with 4 children (all
girls ranging in age from 7-14). We are hoping to
incorporate SERVANT DAYS (a project program at our
kids school) with this work team in hopes that they
might be able to help get things prepared before the
teams arrival. The class would work at bringing the
supplies for the building project to the back of the
property where the project will take place, as well as
the takedown of the lamina house, leaving the work
team to build and finish the house in the week that
they have left. Our hope is to get the concrete house
raised and roofed before the end of the week. Please
be in prayer as the team prepares to come; pray for
safety as we will be driving back and forth from the
Capital, for good weather, and for good health. I've
attached "before" photos for your viewing pleasure.
