Our work here has been progressing slowly. It has proven more difficult than we anticipated, but we
continue to believe that the Lord would have us focus on helping the most desperate of widows in this area. I will be meeting with a woman in the nearby town of Nebaj who has a heart for helping the women in this area of Guatemala. Please pray that Rachel is the missing piece to the puzzle for the ministry the Lord has directed us to in this part of Guatemala.
The work at Light and Life school, http://www.luzyvidaschool.org/ on the net, has been going very well. The legal
paperwork for making the school its own charitable organization is taking a while to complete, but little by little we are reaching our goals. Some friends in Southeast Wisconsin are planning a fundraiser this fall, and for this we are very grateful. The teachers have been showing a lot of initiative and Carlos is
doing a great job as director. Our part in this project has to do with generating interest and investment in the school, and in building the structure of the organization so as to promote long-term viability. We are also looking for those who might like to bring a team down to work on a new roof for the school. We would also like to purchase the land across the street from the school for future expansion. Check out the website developed by our good friend, Don Guth, from West Bend, Wis.
