Mike had the opportunity to see one of his dreams for the school come to fruition. A group of five teachers from Christian Academy of Guatemala (CAG), where our children attend school, traveled to Salquil Grande to spend three days with the teachers at Light and Life School. The teachers that went were: Mr. Recinos, Mrs. Drummond, Lois Rensch, Trisha Williams and Heather Houskamp. The group consisted of two Guatemalans and five North Americans.

Sharon Rosenwald hosted this group in her home in Salquil Grande. The teachers from CAG all enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside these dedicated teachers giving them new opportunities to observe different teaching methods. The teachers from CAG spent the first day observing each of the classrooms and their teachers. The second day the CAG teachers modeled some of the things they would do. In the end most of the teachers from CAG wished they had more time to work alongside their counterparts at Light and Life School. Both groups hope to have continued contact in the future. Mike is hoping for a possible road trip for the teachers at Light and Life this November/December with another road trip for the CAG teachers next summer.
